If you're cheering for PBC to fail, you're cheering for boxing to fail! Kids from the suburbs are not gonna save boxing. Kids from da' hoods, and "los barrios", are not watching $60 PPV fights. The kids from da' hood, and "los barrios," are watching basketball, football, and soccer, all on network TV! If PBC fails, I hope someone else (with some balls) steps up to get the job done!

Osca, didn't you hire the great Angelo Dundee and still lost to PAC? Well now, reminisce his famous words "Youre blowin it Son" and realize you're still getting you azz kicked in boxing, outside of the ring. What happen to your new trainer Arum?Comment

Richard Schaefer, the man that the Golden Boy ran out of the business (who was the nuts-and-bolts guy who actually built Golden Boy into its' position) was the one who had the relationship to lock-in the original FS1 deal, in addition to bringing AEG into the fold and having financial backers work with the company.
With Schaefer no longer in the mix, like most of the other parties, FS1 looked at the relationship and decided that they no longer wanted to be in business with Oscar De La Hoya and his Golden Boy Promotions.
Haymon has NBC/NBCSN, Showtime/CBS, ESPN/ABC, Sp1keTV, and BounceTV(not sure of the channel's reach) all under his banner; with UFC's deal with Fox/FS1, I doubt that they jump headlong into business with Haymon (monthly PBC shows on Sp1ke, a subsidiary of Viacom, who happen to be the owners of BellatorMMA, in addition to NBCSN and its' support of World Series of Fighting MMA, likely throws cold water on that move). Fox Sports may just end up getting out of boxing entirely.
Oscar and his company, come the summer, will now be left with hoping that HBO opens up its' boxing budget, to finance enough shows to provide for Top Rank Inc, the marquee fights from K2(Klitshko, Golovkin) and Main Events(Kovalev), and still have enough for him to sc**** a company together on.
checkmate
He prioritised repairing his personal image with fans, over corporate stability.
He insisted on patching things up with Arum despite the fact that.....
1) a reconciliation with Arum would not mean business between TR/GBP
2) his CEO had refused to deal with Arum since 2010 because Arum - whilst standing right next to Richard Schaeffer at a press release - lied to him, about him, in front of the media..... and the first rule of business is, never do business with somebody you dont trust
Oscar was a fool.Comment

Cards have basically been **** since the Haymon exodus/pushing out of Schaefer, and honestly couldn't tell you about any cards in the last 4-5 months though; I remember catching what I believe was the debut of Taishan Dong, who looked terrible, so can't say that you've missed anything.Comment

OUCH!
If true that PBC is moving in, I wonder if that deal will include fights on Fox Network as well. I feel for Oscar though, that was a good platform for him to showcase young guys. Haymon advantage is his Roster though, he just has more talent to spread around each networks!
I tried to watch GBP on Fox Sports 1...I just wasn't feeling it, those guys was just too NEW and Unknown for me to get into. The future is Online, maybe do like World Series Of Boxing and stream fights on Youtube Live, I'm surprise nobody has done this yet.Comment
