C'mon. You already know what that's about.

I hate catch weight fights. There are enough weight classes already and more than enough fighters available. Having one fighter weight drained to make a fight competitive makes no sense.

Humm,, this shouldbea real barn-burner since porter will make Broner have to fight and Broner will make Porter have to box. This could turn out to Be fight of the year quiet as kept.yes, even at catch weight.

The big deal is, why should one fighter be compromised ?

AB should OBVIOUSLY fight Porter at 147. Keyword = OBVIOUSLY !

If you cant take the heat, then get out of the kitchen, and stay at 140.

What we already know about this matchup......

            1) Broner has already admitted that he may not be able to beat Porter because of size disparity

            2) If Broner does beat Porter.....
            * the Broner fans will insist the catchweight was irrelevant
            * the Porter fans will insist the catchweight killed him
            * nobody will know for sure what would have happened had the fight taken place at 147, rendering the event completely pointless

            Way to go boxing.

Boxing does not have a black eye, you do, for not realising the facts above.
Some people are more interested in categorizing where a fighter places in a weight class than they are in seeing a decent fight. I have no axe to grind for Porter or in fact any boxer. I just want to see decent fights. Most people on here are jumping the gun and assuming this is going to be a bad fight as Porter will come in weight drained. well, he might. But there's a chance we get a good fight that we otherwise wouldn't have seen.

              Props to you Sir ^^

Most intelligent post in this thread !

That fight is completely unnecessary, and completely pointless.

It is not possible for the result to be anything but controversial.

                2) There are plenty of fighters available both at 140 for Broner - as he cannot seem to compete with Porter without disadvantaging him - and at 147 for Porter - as he is obviously a genuine welter

This fight is pointless, and there are plenty of great alternative matchups that are much more meaningful.
