For some reason "punch drunk syndrome" doesn't affect to Russians or Mexicans... I'm half joking but I'm half serious what former Mexican or Russian champ have you seen end up like Meldrick Taylor, freddie roach, rid**** Bowe etc... For some reason it doesn't happen to them. I wonder if there is a scientific reason for it. Or if we just don't know because when they retire and go back home to their native land we just never see or hear from them again...

You would think JCC would be all types of messed up but no... Probably still drinking and doing blow with Jr. From time to time..

            This. Totally spot on.

But when even the pope of face first brawling says that the "defensive", "runner" Mayweather won that really tells something.

Nope. But I saw Manny taking quite a few deep breaths if that helps.

All I hear people talk about is "Floyd ran" this and that.

Wilder can do it against Stiverne - it's a boxing lesson.
Leonard did it against Duran (2) - it's a boxing lesson.
Algieri did it against Ruslan - it's a boxing lesson.
Khan can do it for half the Maidana fight - it's a boxing lesson.
Bradley can do it against Marquez - it's a boxing lesson.

Floyd does it and he gets beat up by watchers who don't know jack about boxing. Just because it's Floyd. No other reason.

And don't get me started on the clinching complaints when Ali is clinching 95 times in a fight compared to Floyd's "MAYBE" 18. Everyone's hero Wlad clinches WAY more in a fight compared to Floyd and nobody gets on him about it.

People just want to complain because they expected something different out of Floyd and can't reconcile with themselves that his style has not changed since the Baldomir fight and won't.
