The list goes on.. Some of the posters on here are either boxing newbies or extremely dumb. It's not like most of Mayweather's former opponents need to beat some sort of boogieman in the division to get the Mayweather fight. But Mayweather has run from Khan for years, I guess Khan is Mayweather's boogieman in a sense!
For years huh? what years were those? After the Diaz bout? After the Garcia bout? After Collazo? Dude no ones running fron Khan. Hes fresh meat at 147, hes scared of being somebodys claim to fame with that chin. Algieri might even beat him, if Pac or Provo couldnt stop Algieri Khan wont either
What do you mean on the run for years?Don't act like khan hasn't been getting beat up and koed during that time frame. Lost to peterson was knocked out by garcia, and went life and death with diaz, he just started consistently winning and that's because he won't fight punchers anymore. Hell he hasn't even fought a world champion since Garcia.
. . . . and exactly why Khan doesnt deserve a Mayweather fight!
British star Amir Khan (30-3, 19KOs) is heading into his debut fight on Premier Boxing Champions on May 29th at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. The Spike TV televised fight will see Khan step into the ring against former champion Chris Algieri.
Khan was last seen in the ring in December, when he dominated Devon Alexander over twelve rounds. Algieri was last in action in November, when he was decked six times in a twelve round decision loss to Manny Pacquiao.
If Khan wins, he will be a frontrunner to face Floyd Mayweather Jr., who says he will retire following a planned fight on September 12th.
Yeah, you're fighting Chris Algieri. No matter in what fashion you win, it won't be "impressive". No disrespect to Algieri but he's not a measuring stick for looking impressive in my opinion.
If you didn't duck Brook and beat him, then we can talk. That was one of the most shameless ducks in modern day boxing. There's was literally no good reason given.
I will be gutted if Mayweather wastes his last fight on Khan.
Khan really is undeserving, despite having the opportunity to rise to the top at 147 with the Brook fight.
Same with Thurman.
Khan and Thurman are both undeserving, and as a result, are both clearly not ready for Mayweather. Thurman has not even mentioned Mayweather, he is obviously waiting him out...... and Khan is not prepared to take any risks whatsoever to force that fight.
Fcuk em both !
Same with Garcia.
I have been pretty vocal about not wanting a Cotto rematch, but it looks likely that Cotto will get the nod..... he is definitely more deserving than any welter, and Lara is the only JMW who deserves consideration.
And fcuk a Pac rematch as well, he had his chance, and he fell well-short.
I have heard plenty of fighters making excuses after a fight, but never heard one make excuses before a fight. Khan is basically saying that if he doesn't perform well against Algieri, it will be because he didn't want to scare Mayeather off. This clown who was involved in a life or death struggle against Julio Diaz a few fights ago now thinks he is the greatest thing since sliced bread after one good performance. What a crock of s...t!
What is worse about this situation is that there are boxing experts who think Khan can beat Mayweather, and this belief is based on one good performance against Alexander. Khan will be lucky to come out of the ring with a gift decision against Algieri.
There is no way in hell he will beat Mayweather!!!
I just cant believe that supposed knowledgable insiders rate Khan vs Floyd.
I see that a lot of pacstains have jumped on the Khan bandwagon, most likely because of two things..... Roach stated that Khan could beat Mayweather, and the pacfans dont have anything left to hang their hat on..... but jeez, that is fkn ignorant imho.
Khan would be the worst Mayweather opponent in a looong time.
And all of the ****** people who blew Khan up as a Mayweather opponent, will be doing exactly what the Pacquiao fans are doing right now..... feeling ******, and making excuses, after Mayweather puts on a clinic..... all whilst vehemently stating that they were not wrong, and that Mayweather is over-rated
Khan is just a rinse-wash-repeat, waste-of-time, look-good, retirement fight.
if khan ever wins against algieri, then, don't fight floyd jr in las vegas, that's floyd jr territory! fight him OUTSIDE USA! with neutral judges and referee, (non americans and non-britons)
