Degale could have put the fight away. At one point he was wobbling Dirrell a lot but wouldn't follow up. I suppose he was gassing out.

I was rooting for Dirrell but also like DeGale. Hopefully Hearn gets him some good fights and soft defenses like hes been known to do

The judge who scored it 117-109 should be banned from judging. One of the worst cards of the year!
          Can't disagree with you.

Dirrell hasn't looked the same since the injury. I knew it and thanks DeGale, I'll be winning this contest once the results are posted: https://www.throwdownfantasy.com/gam.../5556825f5ab9a

Scored it 114-112 DeGale. Could see it as a draw, but never a win for Dirrell. That said, the 117 card was an absolute shocker.

Degale won that fight cleanly. It definitely was a close fight and Dirrell did win the milddle rounds but with those two knock downs and Degale winning early and closing better. He took it cleanly. I don't agree with that judge who gave Degale a landslide win but he did win this close fight cleanly.
Those two knock downs were major and Dirrel is lucky that there wasn't more time in that round because he was on the verge of going. But IMO even though Dirrell took the middle rounds and made it close it wasn't enough to overcome two knock downs and losing the three rounds after the knock down. Plus Degale closed better in the last two rounds.

I had it a draw. I probably gave Dirrell as much as I could give him though so DeGale probably did deserve the decision. Close fight and overall a pretty good fight.

Man, smh I mean all DeGale did all night was look for that one big shot he did land a good couple of shots but it doesn't detract from the fact that he was candidly outboxed for the larger majority of the rounds, I want to see the punch stats for this because I know this decision was absolutely bogus...
Maybe so it will line up another fight with Groves.
well done Sherlock. Haymon would put one of his lambs to the slaughter to set up a Degale/Groves fight that he had no hand in.....makes perfect sense! FFS
