  • Comments Thread For: Murray: Mayweather-Golovkin is Fantasy and Dangerous

British contender Martin Murray is very familiar with the power punches of WBA/IBO middleweight champion Gennady "GGG" Golovkin. Back in February in Monte Carlo, Murray extended Golovkin to eleven rounds before GGG handed him the first TKO defeat of his career. Golovkin has returned since then and knocked out Willie Monroe in six rounds last Saturday night in Los Angeles.

Fans have been clamoring for a fight between Golovkin (33-0, 32KOs) and the pound for pound king Floyd Mayweather Jr. (48-0, 26KOs).

Murray sums it up precisely; GGG is too big for Mayweather, so the fight just doesn't make sense for Mayweather to take. Let's hope that Floyd and his family see no need for Floyd to fight GGG under any circumstances (no matter how much $$$$$$$$$ is to be made).

Floyds always held back, so I doubt hed fight GGG.
But the dilemma lies in the fact that Floyd calls himself TBE, yet knows nobody thinks he is.

You cant put limitiatons on what you have to do, to get the legacy you want.

The difference between GGG and Mayweather is not greater than the difference between Margarito and Pac.

But the difference in balls between Pac and Mayweather is pretty big.

Actually, the difference between size between Pac and Margarito is about the same as the size difference between Floyd and Ortiz, Canelo, and Maidana.

Yes, the size difference between Pac and Margarito was huge, and it was a tough fight for Pac. Pac had to eat some shots from Margarito.

GGG would find it hard to nail Floyd with much im sure. Especially if Floyd runs, and people would excuse Floyd this time if he did, just to etch out a win for himself, doing whatever he needs to do.

Nah. Margarito had about 5 inches and 20 lbs on Pac. Floyd's never fought a guy who has 5 inches on him.
