If theres a market for boxing in Dubai, i dont see why it wouldnt work, i meanlook at Sauerland for instance, they can put up garbage @$$ events and sell em as "world championships" and they buy em! Im not talkn Abraham-stieglitz.

Floyd would get ROBBED big time! Look at TopRank events in Macau for instance, non-TopRank fighters get jobbed over there. Look at Donaire-Vetyeka last year, Donaire walked away with a title on a 5th Round Technical Decision for a fight that only seen 4 rds.

Bob Arum doesn't have a fighter, or a fight, that would draw any real attention in the Middle East, especially to the point where a sponsor would pony up a substantial chunk of money.

Amir Khan is with Haymon, and Klitschko-Wilder is a showdown that has nothing to do with Top Rank, as won't Stevenson-Kovalev, Froch-Golovkin, Ward-Kovalev/Golovkin.

Outside of his name, you'd almost forget that Sadam Ali is even Arab (parents are Yemeni); born in Brooklyn, fought to qualify for the US Olympic team, speaks with a distinct Brooklyn accent, and has basically fought his entire professional career out of NY/NJ.

Then again, assuming Arum's logic, the man's name is Ali, therefore other Arabs will support him, whether he speaks the language or not (and this is without even beginning to get into the political conversation that are in play). smh
