I know he has to say that. But when you land your best shot of the night and get put on your backside half a second later there is surely no silver lining.

He gets stopped 10/10 times with varying degrees of savagery.

      Gaele is not whipping Cotto.

Willie was just on Brian Campbell's podcast saying the ring pad was too cushioned and that he didn't think Golovkin hit that hard but that he never felt gloves hit him like that. Then goes on to pick Lara & Alvarez to beat Golovkin...

There's a bit more padding in the ring mat to make it hurt less when Golovkin's opponents hit the floor as they tend to do multiple times each fight. IF they reduced the padding, fighters would be complaining that there was not enough padding and that they hurt their back or shoulder or arm or neck or their ass when they got dropped.

On June 6th, Geale will face WBC middleweight champion Miguel Cotto at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

Golovkin is the mandatory challenger to the WBC title and the winner of Cotto-Geale will have to face him next. [Click Here To Read More]
Geale you say that GGG has weaknesses, but he stopped you in 3 rounds,
so what does that say about your weaknesses?

I don't think Hopkins would've complained about some extra padding when he got bucked off of Dawson. I've seen smaller show fights where they fought on what looked like a training mat and you could see the feet sink into the canvas.

Rewatching the fight you can't tell if there's any extra sponginess to it and the rules only say that the padding must be approved by the commission. Sounds like it could be exploited to a certain extent as some promoters do with ring size or just sour g****s by Monroe.
