After Manny was exposed, HBO just cutting their loses and creating distance between Arum and themselves.

Donaire's camp decided not to go through with the Ruiz purse bid.

It could be that HBO was on board with Donaire-Ruiz, perhaps with a Jose Ramirez co-feature, and that Donaire didn't like it, opted instead to pursue a bigger fight with Quigg/Frampton later this year, so HBO pulled out and Donaire settled on a tune-up on UniMas.

That's sorta how it reads from the various articles on the subject.

A Quigg or Frampton fight would likely be on HBO.
