It's too bad he didn't escape Cuba and turn pro at a much younger age. What he has already accomplished in his short time as a pro is amazing. He is very old now for a boxer but he is still one hell of a fighter. He takes care of his health and takes little punishment in most fights. I hope he gets some really big fights before age catches up with him.

PPV sales, ratings...all of it gets bigger in the US the farther you go up the scale historically. It leveled in the US at Heavyweight the last decade but even abroad, bigger typically means more $. I think it's criminal the way his division ducks him, but I can see why a network like HBO saw no reason to invest in him too. Same with Top Rank. He had a high per-fight minimum and I'm not sure they could ever get a return on investment so why keep trying?
I understand. Such a sad turn of events for Cuba's defensive wizard.

I don't think he should move up to 126 unless it's a mega fight for him, and right now Lomachenko, Walters, Russell, Mares are not mega-fights.

His two-bit promoters are hacks just looking to parasitize him for a payday and he's at odds with Gary Hyde who tried to get him to sign with RN.
I agree with many of your points. To be honest with you the sport itself, as a whole, does not have many mega fights available. Thus, sitting around and waiting for one to brew at 126 would not only keep an aged champion inactive but it would put him at a disadvantage in the long run. Perhaps none of the names at 126 are mega fight material as of right now, but it would surely add much needed depth to his resume and boost his accolades further than his current lone significant victory.

He may have the skills but grandfather clock has the most stoppages on his record than any living being. Although Rigondeaux is physically gifted, I honestly doubt his smoking habits we doing his health any favors.

What does this have to do with Mexicans being warriors?

Leo is a representative of himself and nothing more. His decisions and choices are of his own making and i assure you it has nothing to do with being a "warrior".

There were excellent fights for him at 122 against Frampton, Quigg, and Santa Cruz. But what good does that do if they avoided him like the plague?

There's hardly ever big fights in the lower weight classes, let alone a mega fight. Rigo just needs to stay active, he can't sit down and wait for the other guys. He should do what GGG is doing and stay active fighting the best available opponents. Guys like Frampton, LSC, and Quigg will be more than content not fighting Rigo. LSC has even moved up now.

His so called promoters are not helping him get any type of fight. They just sit out and talk trash about the other fighters through twitter. They've talked a lot of trash toward Lomachenko, they are not even in the same weight class. They say Loma is ducking, idk see how, they won't even move up and they want Loma to meet them at 124. Loma already said the only way that fight happens is at 126. Top Rank will probably not even do them a favor and let them fight Walters or Loma.

Rigo is stuck in a very difficult position, it's a shame nobody wants to give him a chance. I feel like Caribe promotions or Gary Hyde, maybe even both have something to do with it. I'm pretty confident it's Caribe, they don't even have a fighter besides Rigo, at least Hyde has some other fighters that are actually fighting. Big fan of Rigo but he has to step up and do something or father time will catch him.

Rigondaux will be whipping ass well in his 40's if he chooses to fight that long because he is so skilled. Just waiting until September to see his next move!

He relies a lot on his reflexes and agility so I'm not sure his style will age too well.
