As Brian Kweder of ESPN was quoted as saying on the subject, the financials of the deal were "very favorably" set up for ESPN.Can someone find out what the hell Al Haymon says to these powerful networks to get them to sign his pbc on? Im curious nobody knows, why would ESPN all of a sudden cancel one of their long running boxing shows for PBC which is on rival networks as well.
Im really curious the type of Pitch Haymons representative pitched to these guys to get him this many network deals.
Im sure it's the same for all the networks.
It's not a big gamble on their part.
Instead of paying for FNF, Haymon comes to them and offers to pay them for time, offers a higher quality of fight cards.
Another thing that's favorable is the flexibility. While they may primarily be on Saturday nights, some may also be on Wednedsay, Thursday and Friday.
Theres a financial incentive to at least see how this goes for the initial deal, and see what the ratings are, see how the audience reacts, and then reassess it when the time comes.
There isn't a huge investment being asked of ESPN ...yet.Comment

X2damn man... that sucks. I really hope Teddy Gets another commentating job somewhere else. He can be a little long winded with his analogies and I sometimes STRONGLY disagree with him but he's one of the few honest guys in the sport left with his integrity in tact. The sport is missing out if Teddy Atlas isn't talking boxing ...
Other thing is they're talking about quality over quantity; so what happens to all the entry level fights we watch on FNF?
Where do those guys go for us to know them?Comment

Teddy and joe are staying on do you guys even read lol. This is old news anyway. But there's gonna be so much boxing at once not having fnf won't hurt much. And this will actually be good fightsComment
