Carl Froch vs. Gennady Golovkin at the Mandalay Bay Events Center would be a HUGE fight. I have GGG by stoppage and it will really setup a nice fight between the Cotto/Canelo winner against GGG. Golovkin is going to be a HUGE star if he starts adding names like this to his resume.

As he said in interviews especially after hte last fight.

"He showed him who the real champion was" then he gave the crowd the drama show they wanted.

And it was pretty clear that he was just standing there letting himself get hit, and once he decided to end it, it suddenly went from competitive to noncompetitive again.

He likes to entertain, he knows thats what brings fame and money for him, so once he know he has a fighter, he is willing to take a little punishment to make the fights exciting to watch. Notice he never walks into any shots though, its mostly him presenting openings and waiting for his opponent to hit him.

Obviously he wouldn't do this with someone who he felt had power, like with Curtis Stevens he was very responsible.

He also dialed back his offense vs Monroe for a couple rounds, to allow him to be competitive. He seems to have done that with many people.

But dont be confused, he has the kind of awareness in the ring that not many people have. He is slick and crafty, and doesn't get hit when he doesn't want to to.

I believe the story that he is carrying opponents and making them look more competitive, if not to give the fans a show, to try and get someone big in the ring with him.

GGG will try to slug it out because that is the only way he knows how to fight and Froch will score the KO of the year.
You sadly underestimate GGG, he can box, and he is intelligent, he doesn't just **** with you, and he has the power that if you **** with him, you will lose... He probably hit harder than Froch just on absolute terms, not even p4p.

Sergei Kovalev describes GGG as "Hitting like a sledge hammer". They have sparred, apparently GGG dropped him.

So if Kovalev, the badass of 174, described GGG as hitting like a sledgehammer, I don't think his power will be an issue at 168, and I don't think Froch can match it... I mean he only has 68% KO in his division. People are over stating his power.

Tough fight to call and before I voted I read all the posts to maybe see if there was something I hadn't thought of... Lo and behold, Natas of all people dropped boxing knowledge and I hadn't thought about Froch and his mindset near retirement. If he's in a war, in an all out brutal fight, GGG has the mental edge I think, he's simply hungrier and that's going to be the difference in a 50/50 fight.

I don't know if I'm going to go with TKO, but I can see Froch doing enough to survive or fight to not get KO'd. I'm taking GGG in a close but clear win.

GGG will probably stop this version of Carl. If it was the Froch from a few years back, I'd pick him.

I don't think Froch is as hungry as he used to be, and he's never been this inactive.

I've got a legacy, fame, fortune, beautiful family, I'm about to retire, it's not worth it."

It's not the mentality of a British fighter, rarely happens, particularly in big fights. GB is a relatively small island where reputation counts for a lot. Froch will get up until he can't, almost guaranteed.

That may be but when guys exchange with him, for the most part they tend to go down.

Somehow I don't think the Mandalay Bay Events Center will be near the top of the list of preferred venues lol. If it's Vegas, Froch will want the MGM but I really can't see the fight taking place in the US.

This is the only Froch fight i want to see now, Froch beats him i think, the mid range style that GGG fights at will play into frochs hands as froch tends to throw punches with a slight bend in the arm to generate power.

Long range froch is the better boxer aswell (yeah i said it) hes got and awkward jab also. GGG best chance is to get in real close quarters and rough froch up like ward did, will be awesome to watch.

... This would be the blueprint, but Golovkin doesn't hold Ward's skills and speed in jumping in and glueing himself onto his opponent's chest and mimic the inside working... Golovkin is a mid ranger, he needs some space in order to load and Froch, as long as he is able to effectively use his long-long jab, would be difficult to be hit... Unfortunately, Froch often lowers his left later into the fight...

I have GGG on points in an absolute war. I don't agree Carl can win the fight at mid-long range. I think Gennady is technically superior at that range. Better jab, better variety of the punches, better timing and precision. Not sure about the power, although wouldn't be surprised Gennady hits harder.

Carl should try to impose himself and try to rough him up, not the other way around. Gennady doesn't like fighting at very close range or back-foot..

I'm an avid Froch fan but at 38 - wrong fight, wrong time.

Hell of a test of GGG's chin tho.

I don't want to see Carl "Hattoned"
