... so the cable companies (Comcast/DirectTV/Dish/ATTUverse/etc) don't make any money on the fight? so HBO/Showtime aren't entitled to their own 7.5% cut? lolYou're an idiot. At least use the right numbers if you want to start acting like you know anything.
The TV rights were 60/40 this was established. 60% of the 500mil is 300mil.
Mannys 40% of that is 120mil for the PPV money alone. Lets say TR does take 33% that leaves manny with 80mil. 80mil on top of his gate, foreign tv rights, and all the other **** gives Manny at least 100mil+.
Floyd will probably be getting close to 180mil though. Nobody knows what his deal with Haymon is.
If you want to use the right numbers, let's use the right number.
The revenue figure being talked up currently is ~$440m in PPV revenue. Distributors get 40% and HBO/Showtime receive 7.5%, leaving 52.5% for the promoters of the fight [Mayweather Promotions/Top Rank Inc].
52.5% of ~$440m leaves you with ~$231m for the promoters; Top Rank's share is ~40%, which gives them a payout of ~$92.5m. Add in 25% of the MGM live gate of ~$75m (~$18.75m), a guess of 40% of the international TV rights that were talked of being in the $30m range (~$12m), 40% of the event sponsor money of ~$12m (~$4.8m), and a share off of the closed circuits and other revenue stream ($5m). Add it all up and Top Rank takes in ~$135m.
Top Rank takes their third and Pacquiao is left with ~$90m, significantly less than the $150m being bantered about. Pacquiao then having to pay back whatever advances given to him by Top Rank (having an entourage as massive as Pacquiao's, all coming to camp on his dime, with the tickets/meals/etc being picked up by Pacquiao) and you can safely knock Pacquiao's purse down to $70m-$80m, a massive payday but nowhere near the figure in question.
If the $440m in PPV revenue holds firm, Mayweather Promotions will likely bring in ~$190m and Floyd taking home $150m (after paying Haymon his fee and paying his own company a fee for promoting the fight).
For every $50m more in PPV revenue, Mayweather Promotions would bring in an additional $15.75m in revenue (of which Mayweather likely gets another $12.5m), with Top Rank bringing in an extra $10.5m (of which Pacquiao would get an extra $7m).Comment
