Comments Thread For: Hearn: I Spoke To Froch, He's Interested in Golovkin

According to promoter Eddie Hearn of Matchroom Sports, super middleweight star Carl Froch (33-2, 24KOs) is starting to express some interest in facing WBA/IBO middleweight Gennady "GGG" Golovkin (33-0, 30KOs).

In an earlier article on BoxingScene.com, Triple G's promoter Tom Loeffler of K2 Promotions stated that Golovkin has no problem with testing himself by moving up to the super middleweight division to fight Froch.

Froch has been inactive since knocking out George Groves before 80,000 fans last May at Wembley Stadium.

Froch after a tune up beats GGG-FACT

Froch would beat GGG in Nottingham after a tune up fight. Froch if sharp would be too big for GGG at 168lbs weighed in and 182 fight night. and could push the smaller overrated over-hyped never fought anyone good Golovkin. GGG might be the most overhyped fighter ever. Watch. In the USA the fight is a toss up?

Froch is a wily old bird apart from being a warrior. He has shown some interest. Last week he was dissing Golovkin. At the weekend Froch saw some weaknesses. He's probably thinking that he only needs to lay one similar to the punch that sent groves to sleep and he will have slayed a monster and further enhanced his legacy.

As much as I like GGG for the excitement he brings, it does seem as if he is starting to believe his own hype. GGG-Froch - I'd be laying a heavy bet that it doesn't go the distance and I'm not sure I'd get any decent odds.

I think Froch would beat Golovkin easily he's bigger and has a good jab and power.
