  • Comments Thread For: Froch Feels DeGale Genuinely Improved Since Loss

Carl Froch is hoping domestic foe James DeGale (20-1, 14KOs) can bring back a world title to the UK. This coming Saturday in Boston, in a Premier Boxing Champions main event, DeGale will face Andre Dirrell (24-1, 16KOs) for the vacant IBF super middleweight title. Froch vacated the title earlier this year after expressing his disinterest and facing DeGale in a mandatory fight. Froch won a controversial twelve round decision over Dirrell several years ago.

Interview was going so well until he bragged about several of his past opponents. Gawd I've tried so hard to like Froch but he makes it difficult.

Froch is so delusional. Like beating a scrub like Groves an over the hill Kessler and a bum like Bute is impressive. The guy is another Gatti.

            Froch literally fought everyone.

As for DeGale's improvement - he's been fighting with a serious injury for a lot of his career but this Saturday will truly show if he has improved because I expect Dirrell to use similar tactics which frustrated him against Groves

Hopefully after Degale does the business on Saturday, Froch will finally grow a pair of balls and fight him

It did appear that DeGale turned the corner on his career with the way he beat Gonzales. Gonzales wasn't a highly touted prospect or anything, but he was undefeated and had been improving himself heading into that fight. The Periban fight wasn't that great a measuring stick because Periban looked awful physically even before the bell rang - nice of DeGale to spare us the misery of watching Periban that night..so on top of rising to the occasion in his two latest step-up fights, it appears that he is also hitting much harder than he was in recent years.
