Freddy game plan was garbage, and Manny doesn't have an effect jab to throw off Floyd's timing and get inside; to get inside, Manny had to eat right hands which also disrupted his timing and rhythm. By the he resets, Floyd is gone out of range. Many people watch boxing, but do not know what they are watching.
    basically....

Manny seemingly wanted to try to out point and finesse May. His strategy was to use his speed and counter and potshot Floyd. Makes for a boring fight, but I can't think of anyone in recent memory that has tried that same tactic as successfully as Pac did. To his credit. This mutual chess match slowed down the output of both fighters to record lows. Still a 1 or 2 point fight in Floyd's favor because of the championship rounds.

Maidana's strategy IMO was far more effective. Come in like an animal, don't let Floyd breathe, and showcase your underrated boxing chops and abilities to set traps and manage distance. His plan was not finesse but power and volume.. Not to try to outsmart Floyd but to out tough him. The fix was in for the rematch because Maidana was no longer allowed to work with one hand free. Bayless wouldn't let Chino work. That combined with Maidana seemingly falling in love with the moments from the first fight where he had success with Floyd in the center of the ring made him over commit to that particular strategy in the rematch.

But we still have Floyd-Maidana 1

They probably weren't friends, a lot of these fighters seem to like to think they're friends with Floyd but if they were, then I hope Monroe knows where he stands now.

I remember thinking Ward backing his friend Guerrero (in a fight he likely expected him to lose) wasn't too outrageous, remember Floyd's reaction to that?

You missed my point, I was highlighting bias by making a similarly biased comparison.
