Comments Thread For: Trout: Maidana Did Better Than Pacquiao With Floyd

Former champion Austin Trout felt Floyd Mayweather Jr. completely dominated Manny Pacquiao on May 2nd at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Trout was left with a bad taste in his mouth, because afterwards Pacquiao refused to admit defeat and claimed his performance was affected by a right shoulder injury. Trout says Marcos Maidana, who lost two twelve round decisions to Mayweather last year, did faired better against the pound-for-pound king.

Mayweather is looking to return a final time on September 12th. He claims the upcoming return will be the final fight of his pro career.

Obviously, credit to roberto garcia who implement a very very good game plan. Maidana followed it perfectly not so much the 2nd fight doe because he came in too big.

Trout saying Pacquiao gave up in the middle rounds is off-base, he won rounds 9 & 10 (confirmed by the Vegas judges).

All these guys backing Floyd like automated zombies when Floyd's out there betting on them to get KO'd then posting it publicly with no thought for them at all. They're being sycophants for someone who wouldn't pi$$ on them if they were on fire.

So are you suggesting Floyd would have been wise to bet on Monroe???

I'm saying when someone has supported you publicly (as Monroe did to Floyd), you don't release a betting slip to the world essentially bragging about how you made money on them getting knocked out in under 5 rounds.

I thought pacquiao vs mayweather was very close..much more so than any floyd fight except Castillo 1 ,Oscar delanhoya, and cotto.
I don't know what trout saw but then again he got whooped by Canelo who floyd washed.

Is this what the boards have come to? This sorta pettiness? People choose and predict winners or outcomes all the time....on all sorts of social media. It's not like Mayweather is insulting the guy....he just shown a ticket of a winning bet. Not too outrageous.

I think Maidana had more success but didn't win either fight. The success he had against Mayweather was probably a lot more consistent than Pac, but not enough to win the majority of rounds.
