True but its without saying that if Floyd vs Manny didnt happen, Canelo wouldve been the biggest draw Cinco de Mayo weekend regardless. Besides I think anyone that seen Manny vs Floyd live were not to interested to see that circus act again unless their an insomniac.

It would be a replay of the margarito fight but in 4 rounds!
They ARE having one of the best years. Thanks to good match ups, exciting fights and a true boxing audience! I'm hoping the PBC follows suit and makes some enticing fights that fans will clamor for. Broner/Porter is a start.

Why is this big news? I thought all boxing fans were hoping for the Pac/May fight to give boxing a boost in the arm. Both the Canelo fight last week and the GGG fight this past weekend owe their ratings success to the Pac/May fight. And the coming Cotto vs Geale will also have success based on the fact that the fight of the century has renewed interest in boxing. And before anyone calls it out, it also helps that these guys are stars or on the way up in GGG'S case.

That fight was going to do monster ratings with or without Floyd.
People are still trying to use that excuse to discredit Canelo. If his ratings had anything to do with the May-Pac replay then why did Showtime get such horrible ratings for the Jim Gray interview with Mayweather (318k viewers) and for Inside Mayweather vs. Pacquiao Epilogue(304k viewers)? Their ratings actually went down after the replay of the fight.

lol because who would watch those, even if the fight was amazing?

Don't get me wrong, having Canelo on around Cinco de Mayo was going to be a big draw nonetheless, but I doubt it'd be >2mil. Would still be a better draw than GGG by a sizable margin.

Cotto gonna get like 1.1 M. Most of those views will be from Caniel's Australia fanbase.

Very true...PBC's rating are getting higher. At first I disliked Al Haymon due to him monopolizing the sport but at least he's bringing the sport to free tv and to a wider audience...gotta respect the man for that. Broner/Porter is a toss up fight, and so is DeGale vs Dirrell
