Cuban heavyweight Mike Perez (21-1, 13KOs) is training hard in Russia for the final WBC eliminator against Alexander Povetkin (28-1, 20KOs) on May 22nd in Moscow, Russia.

Povetkin has been able to recover strong from a 2013 twelve round decision loss to Wladimir Klitschko. He came back last year to score impressive knockout victories over Manuel Charr and Carlos Takam, who fought Perez to a draw last year.

For his part, Perez lost a twelve round split decision to Bryant Jennings in July, but came back in February of this year to stop Darnell Wilson in two rounds.

what serious athlete carries that much flab? ok maybe linebackers in football who need explosive power for short bursts. boxing doesn't work that way. thats why there are very few flabby boxing champions.

My brother trains in the same gym as Perez. He'll be in better shape for this fight. Better shape for him might still not be all that great but at least he seems to have taken training seriously.

You have made this statement before and once again you are incorrect. Maybe you just don't know anything about American football and just maybe you are confusing NFL linebackers with offensive and defensive lineman. If not please show me photos of these so called fat and flabby NFL linebackers. Because I for one haven't seen many.
