I think Cottos performance vs Mayweather upped his stock because whilst it was a 9-3 fight to Mayweather, Cotto made him work every round. He got shown up by Trout and the funny thing is, no one mentions that...like his fight vs a decrepit Martinez wipes it out or something.

I like Cotto, his rematch win vs Margarito is one of my favourite wins in Boxing ever but he's past his athletic best, he's not fighting the best anymore and acting like a diva. Canelo, Lara, GGG would without a doubt beat him. There are also others at 154 and CERTAINLY at 160 that would beat him. Hell, I think Thurman beats him too.

Cotto has done nothing in years let the OP tell it but he still has a better resume than Genady Golovkin in that same amount of time. If Genady Golovkin who is in his 30s fought Austin Trout it would be the best fighter he has ever faced.

Seriously i don't get why people are clamouring to see him fight Golovkin or Canelo. The guy has done nothing for a long time...

He beat Sergio "Stephen Hawking" Martinez. Lost to Floyd (no shame there), Beat a D level fighter in Rodriquez. Not to mention losing to Austin Trout, it's strange, it's like that fight is some dirty secret that nobody talks about, like people have tried to erase it from boxing history. Nobody can talk about it, like it didn't happen. Like the time i ****** my cousin.

Actually i like Cotto, but the truth is that he has done nothing of note for 3 or 4 years now. Right now, he's dining out on that Martinez win which was basically against a cripple.

I would give him credit if he defended his Middleweight title against the Middleweight Geale at the proper Middleweight limit of 160. He needs to vacate that belt if he doesn't wish to defend it properly. He is the WBC Middleweight champion yet he is defending it against a guy Golovkin already finished in a few rounds and he won't even fight him at 160.

Yep, i agree but we both know that Cotto isn't going to get in the ring with Golovkin as long as he as a hole in his ass. So you can't really bring Golovkin into the equation. He's trying to fight the WBC Middleweight Champ Cotto, who won't fight him. But if Golovkin can't get the big names at Middleweight within the near future and still doesn't move up to SMW to get good fights, i'll be on his back too of course if he's content fighting second tier Middleweights but right now it's unfair to be too harsh because it's not his fault fighters won't get in there with him.
