Of course he has defensive holes that can be pointed out by your brilliance, but obviously, so far, at 160 the opponents he is facing aren't hurting him. And if you are confident that they are hurting him, it still wouldn't matter because it has shown to be completely ineffective because I mean they are getting KO'd/TKO'd. He has a stellar amateur pedigree and the perspective of his style is to destroy his opponents with maximum power and aggression. For the time being, his defensive vulnerabilities have not really held back his performances or his climb to the top of 160.
If he is so average then why won't the 'elite' 160 lbers come to the table. Cotto is not even entertaining the idea of Golovkin. Canelo (which I can understand) wants to let the fight build for a few years. Quillin, I mean what can you say, the guy seems to shy away from lesser foe's already. He has made no pretension to wanting to fight GGG or instigating any sort of momentum for it to happen. Chavez might as well be MIA at this point after Fonfara and his ultimatum of meeting Golovkin at 170. Martinez is shot to ****. We can only hope that Andy Lee might want Golovkin but some food for thought, Lee has already been TKO'd by the likes of Chavez Jr. Jermain Taylor is bat **** crazy and prob will never return. Daniel Jacobs might be one of the best options at 160 but let's face it, he is with Haymon and he is not an elite. At least not yet.
As for Super Middleweight, I think we can all expect Golovkin to make the move, unlike Ward who is applauded by his fanboys for not moving up. But if it makes major financial sense to hold off Canelo vs GGG, then why wouldn't for GGG vs Ward? I mean after all as many of you say, GGG is very unproven. Let him peak at his natural division at the very least. Ward also is at a career low with how much he has accomplished and how very inactive and out of the loop he is. If anything needs building, it's these two guys, even if it means them fighting at 35 and 33. I really don't know if Froch wants to fight GGG, he doesn't seem to. That would be a fight though that would makes sense, but Froch has to want it. Groves would also be a good fight, but come on he has made no interest in fighting GGG and says he should stay at 160.
The problem lies with the most definitive rising middleweight star now having to wait time and foot for Cotto to either present a contract, lose or vacate. Cotto is doing none of these things and seems to be confident at holding onto the Lineal even if he is fighting leftovers.
