I'm remarking on skills. He's clearly a slick fighter. Also I never called him good. But I think he does give most MW's issues. Slick southpaw with quick feet. Hard to look good vs guys like that.

To be clear Monroe couldn't land much until GGG went for the kill after the KD's. Beating Vera clear is noteworthy. Brandon Adam's also a solid guy that Monroe beat. Watch his fights you can see his boxing ability. Who should he have fought? Johnson and Hieland where the other options. Froch didn't want it. Chavez didn't want it.

If you think he was landing on Golovkin 'at will' you are damn crazy. Re-watch the fight. In the first 2 rounds when Triple G was sizing him up, seeing what sort of power he had Golovkin was very careful and in full boxer mode. Check those first 2 rounds, Monroe didn't land ****.

However once Golovkin had him down, badly hurt and knew Monroe had nothing on his shots he went into his full Rocky zone and was happy to take 2 or 3 shots to land 1 of his own. Triple G got hit more because he decided to abandon all defense in order to ice this dude.

There is a BIG difference between a guy who decided to abandon defense in order to smash his opponent as opposed to a guy that is getting hit with shots he is trying to evade. After round 2 Golovkin simply didn't give a ****.

After all this is what you do when you are wanting to put on a 'big drama show.'
