Comments Thread For: Loeffler: GGG To Be Active, Won't Wait For Cotto/Canelo

With another knockout victory in the books for WBA/IBO middleweight titlist Gennady Golovkin this past weekend at the Forum in Inglewood, California against Willie Monroe, K2 Promotions is looking ahead to Golovkin's next date.

Tom Loeffler, the managing director of K2 Promotions told the ringside press on Saturday night - "We'd like to plan the next fight in September."

And they are bracing for Miguel Cotto-Saul Alvarez in the fall.

Please try and force Quillen or Lee to fight Golovkin next.

He's going to be fighting Willie Monroes for the next couple years until Canelo has nowhere to turn but to fight him.

maybe Monroe was just a tune up for Lara....maybe they fear Lara and wanted to test the waters before taking on a highly skilled slick southpaw...that's IF Lara is next for GGG

David Lemieux is the next better option for GGG in case Canelo quit

In other words, "We'll keep ducking Cotto and Canelo, but pretend GGG is the most avoided fighter", .

Seriously doubt it for multiple reasons.

If I'm them I would make a serious offer to Andy Lee, even if that means paying BJS a big step aside fee. Unification is the most important thing here besides Cotto/Canelo.

N'dam vs Lemieux is on June 20th, not sure they'll want to wait that long for a winner to emerge and then see of they can potentially make a fight. So I'd do everything possible to try and get Andy Lee, pay him whatever he wants.

They pretty much summed it up by saying no matter who he fights people show up. What need is there to pay a good fighter a deserving purse when we can pay subpar comp peanuts, pack out a stadium, collect a check and blame everyone else while we do it 4 times a year.
