Khan, cotto, brook, Thurman. In that order. Of course allmust look good and win.

One final chance. Or so he says but we will see.

Which is why it's going to be GGG in September.

Pacquiao was his easiest opponent since Juan Manuel Marquez back in 2009.

Thurman, Khan, Brook or Bradley at 147 would all be acceptable to me, provided that the latter three make it through their next fight looking good.

It won't be Cotto because Cotto supposedly had to sign a guarantee to take Alvarez next to secure his HBO date. It won't be Golovkin because Mayweather isn't ******, although that would be a huge statement match to make. Outside of those two guys and the people I've already mentioned, there isn't anybody even on the radar from 140-160 worth fighting for Mayweather, except maybe Terence Crawford.

Also lol @ everyone saying he doesn't need to fight anyone significant. Yes, we all get that he's done well and could retire today on what he's already accomplished. But he's gonna have one more fight, and it would be unfair to those who have been putting in work and deserve a chance at a big opportunity and payday for him to fight a bum. So when I say someone good should get the fight, I am not saying so because Floyd's legacy needs anything else (because it doesn't), rather I'm saying there are some fighters who deserve to get a shot.

We're all naming the same short list of people (thurman, brook, khan being the frontrunners with broner/porter winner, GGG and danny garcia as long shots). Any pick for a fighter that isn't on the same playing field as the above names would be disappointing all those hoping to be picked for that fight.

EDIT: Didn't mention Cotto but would be a big payday, so that could happen as well.
Of course, i agree Floyd should fight somebody notable.. as for Khan im not totally against it, id just hate to see him land the fight with the comp hes facing.Thurman, Brook, Porter and Broner are all acceptable but dont really elevate Floyds status legacy-wise, unless they go on to dominate the sport for years. Honestly id really like that GGG fight, hes highly regarded and thatd be a great way to go out. But as you said, thats a long shot and it doesnt help that GGGs reseme lacks a big name. Id still want it though. Honestly imo, i think Garcia and Cotto are the front runners. You think about it and both are lineal champs @140 and 160, doesnt it make sense for Floyd to go for that 5th lineal? And make history while hes at it. Also hed be the lineal in 3 separate weight classes simultaneously.

i do believe floyds gonna give manny a rematch next year for 50.
Yup. In that new arena with HBO and Showtime in a bidding war. Bob and Manny will see that "injury" and the casuals will buy more emotional stock.

Probably still do over 2 million PPVs.

agreed. But if not cotto. It should be brook because he's a champion and shoul he win his upcoming fight. Then thurman. If those opponents don't get chosen then danny garcia is in line. Forget khan and porter. Expecially khan

You make an interesting point here. If I'm Floyd and have one last fight and I think I can beat anybody out there, I'd want to beat the guy who has the best chance of staying at the top when I retire. Of everyone named here the two guys are probably Khan and Thurman. One Time is looking better and better every time he fights and he may be the best active welterweight right now. Khan has a lot of talent too and it just remains to be seen if he can take the risks required to build a legacy and be successful.

Right now there's nobody at welterweight who has a record that would be worthwhile for Floyd to beat. But in three years some of these welterweights will be considered Hall of Famers, which would make Floyd beating them in his last fight something worth adding to his legacy.

I don't believe September will be Mayweather's last fight. If he's smart he will be doing some background promotion for a Pacquiao rematch in May.

                    Is Danny Garcia tough?

                    No.

                    And I think that's a strong possibility

Floyd won't fight Danny. There's no way that fight would sell to casual fans. A lot of people felt Danny lost two of his last three fights, and the third fight was against an absolute no-hoper. He'd be moving up in weight to face Mayweather and he wouldn't bring anything that people would expect to give Mayweather trouble. Garcia's a counter-puncher with less speed than Floyd, probably less power at welterweight too. To be honest I don't think even Garcia wants that fight, or he would have been calling for it after he beat Matthysse.
