Having just watched the GGG-Monroe fight there are a few things I noticed.
-It's incredibly easy to land combinations on GGG. You can go to his head and body easily and you don't even have to set it up. The opportunity is just sitting there in the open due to GGG's limited defense.
-With the above in mind, all you need to do is use lots of feints and get on the inside like Monroe was trying to do. The only difference is you need to bait him into thinking you're willing to commit to the inside, but rather than staying there trading combos, you get yours off and then MOVE THE HELL OUT OF THERE. You have to KEEP resetting and keep doing this.
GGG has shown he's 100% committed to fighting on the inside if you're willing. In fact, that's where they think they have the advantage! But that's only if the opponent CHOOSES to STAY there and trade. If you're a guy with a lot of stamina, you could EASILY land combinations on the inside and back out and keep resetting. GGG has shown his flaws tonight and this is one of them.
If Monroe wasn't so limited himself he could have easily won wide on the cards if he had stuck to my gameplan. He was landing combinations on GGG's face like it was nothing. But the problem is he got too confident knowing he was able to land that much, so he sat there and traded. BAD MOVE! He should have went in, put in work, back out and reset!
I won't be surprised if his next opponents have good success with this gameplan. GGG is not invincible.
