  • Comments Thread For: Golovkin on Mayweather at 154: Show Me The Contract!

WBA/IBO middleweight champion Gennady "GGG" Golovkin (33-0, 30KOs) is ready for all comers after knocking out Willie Monroe in six rounds on Saturday night at The Forum in Los Angeles.

At the post fight press conference, Golovkin was asked if he was still interested in dropping down to junior middleweight face WBC/WBA junior middleweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. (48-0, 26KOs), who also holds the WBC/WBA/WBO titles at 147-pounds.

Golovkin would be ready to face Mayweather on his planned return date of September 12th - although it's unlikely the fight will ever happen.

    Aha..should be a good one.
    Rehydration clause limit 154-55.
    Mayweather picks the gloves.
    Kenny Bayless.
    Refs chosen my Mayweather.
    40' Ring

Jab, flee, GGG cuts ring, clinch, grab, Baylets resets, GGG gets inside Bayless breaks immediately.
    Mayweather floats to decision win.

Or Floyd "Noone knows who GGG is" & fights Lee

Gay weather said a few years ago he could beat anybody 154 on down. If they fight at that weight gay weather gets knocked out. Decision won't save her this time. But this fight won't happen

If you want to argue that Golovkin isn't accomplished enough to face Mayweather at the end of his career that's understandable.

But I think we would all give Floyd a standing ovation if he made this fight happen.

This post is not for GGG groupies. Monroe exposed him to a certain extent, at 154 FMJ cruises to victory.. Can the groupies tell me the last time he has weighed 154? He's no monster he was being tattooed by a C level fighter with no punch.

Oh Im sure even Chris Arreola would make 154 for a Mayweather fight. Not a question of can is a question of is it a good idea as far as health/stamina/performance goes.

Yes with ease. He's kinda small for a middle weight 5 "10. He has no problem making the weight at 160. But if I were him I'd stay away from super middle. He is much better at 160. Ward would do a GAY WEATHER on him at 168 and win a decision over ggg.
