Damn did people forget GGG was willing to go to 168 and fight chavez jr for no belt but the ward fight (not when he was inactive) didnt make financial sense?

Do your homework...
You better ask team Ward just when they think Andre is ready to take Golovkin... In 2017? After 3 "tune-ups"?

Who cares about being the true middleweight champion, at this point the division is garbage and isn't saying anything if your the champ of it. If GGG moved up and dominated that would be better then dominating a crap division full of nobodies. Its about history. If he moves out of the 160-division now, he will never be recognized as the true Middleweight Champion historically, despite having campaigned there since 2010 with 15 title defenses. So, he either needd to fight Cotto or collect his WBC belt by forcing the strippage (if he can't fight the lineal guy because he refuses and forfeited his WBC Belt, then that's fine, he will be the Ring Magazine and Unified Champ, which is just as good).
Lets stop sensationalizing things about him moving up.Comment

Canelo would probably have the balls to fight GGG later but don't count on Cotto he is a complete disgrace who will hold the best hostage for as long as he can fighting Golovkin's leftovers or cab drivers like Rodriguez. Since GGG will probably not get Canelo or Mayweather this fall he could fight the winner between Lemieux vs N'Dam. Lemieux has already expressed desire to fight GGG that would be a good fight if he becomes champ next month.Comment

Yea, didn't his team say they would fight ANYONE from 154 to 168? But this guy stay calling out only welterweights and junior middleweights only.Comment

You are failing to see the big picture. This is a symptom of today's, short attention, immediate gratification generation.
It's not about now, it's about the FUTURE. 10 yeas, 15 years, hell 30 years from now when the hoopla about needing to fight Ward will be long gone. Being recognize as the true Middleweight champion while also solidifying all your title defenses will mean higher status as an ATG.
He is at 15 title defenses now, but unless he unifies and becomes Lineal or the Recognized Champ, those defenses mean nothing.Comment

When we look back at his wins, were going to scratch our heads thinking about what solid, great wins this guy has got. In the future the division might progress with some great fighters fighting at middle weight but only time will tell when that day comes. If GGG moved up and dominated guys like Ward, Froch, or Abraham that what would be great. And when we look back at GGG's resume 5, 10 years from now and see those solid wins, he'll get more respect as a great fighter (if he won those fights). Fighting these guys at 160 makes me yawn. You are failing to see the big picture. This is a symptom of today's, short attention, immediate gratification generation.
