Ali was the Wladimir clinch machine of the 70s.
His rope a dope tactic was utter trash. Taking unnecessary punches.
He was ALWAYS a sucker for a left hook.
He arguably lost every fight to Norton. This is like Floyd going through hell vs Carlos Baldomir.
His signature move was to hold the opponents neck down.
He said the reason Frazier won a decision was because of white judges (sore loser)
He called Frazier a gorilla, uncle tom and the white mans puppet, even though Frazier helped him financially during his three year ban.
My point is if Ali was fighting now in 2015 with the same exact skill sets, he would not be anything special. He would get trashed for his big mouth and clinching. Thing is, people just have a love affair with ANYTHING that happened long ago. because the footage is black and white , they MUST be better fighters than we have today. This is BS.
In the third Frazier fight, Joe was blind in one eye and still gave the "greatest" hell.
And like I said Floyd is the ONLY boxer EVER to be years past his prime and still be on the throne as P4P king.
