Comments Thread For: McDonnell: I Would Stop Tomoki Kameda in a Rematch

Jamie McDonnell is willing to give Tomoki Kameda a rematch after defending his WBA title with an impressive points win over the Japanese fighter last weekend.

The Doncaster bantamweight received a 114-113 verdict from all three judges after battling back from a third round knockdown in Texas.

McDonnell has been considering a move up to super-bantamweight, which would pave the way for big domestic clashes against Scott Quigg and Carl Frampton.

But before that he says he will likely head back to the United States for a second fight with Kameda and intends to win the return bout in convincing fashion.

I think his size troubled Kameda. Plus Kameda's conditioning isn't so good. He gets sluggish in the second half of fights. Did the same thing with his previous opponent Hernandez.

I like the idea of the rematch, it was a very close fight and probably the best fight on PBC thus far.

I doubt it, I'm from England and I'm really happy for McDonnell but I had Kameda winning.

I had Kameda winning by a few points.

The knockdown definitely should have sealed at least a split decision for him.

I would love to see a rematch tho. I dont get to see many Japanese fighters fight live like the rest of you. Dont know where to even catch all those fights you guys be watching.

            It was a good fight....

I thought the knockdown hurt McDonnell more than he's leading on.... However, McDonnell seemed to find a groove during the later rounds....
Kameda took a drubbing those last 2 rounds and I think that was the difference maker in the fight...
As far as the rematch goes, McDonnell should drag Kameda into deep water and drown him....
Kameda needs more in the tank and should pace himself better.... Then we'll get a nice show....

McDonnell needs this win to set himself up for a big payday with Quigg or/and Frampton..... He might think Kameda is a safer fight to take before moving up for the domestic $howdown .... We shall see....

Bet you were happy for him winning. Looks like you don't even support British fighters except Amir. Salim.

Excuse me, just because I'm not in Brook's ass like you doesn't mean I dislike brits. Quigg, Frampton, Groves, Degale, Skeete, Froch are just some of the brits I love to watch. Your ignorance is beyond me.

I also don't rate Frankie Gavin and feel Skeete beat him, wow I hate english fighters. Don't make assumptions about people you don't even know.

I'm also one of few people on boxing scene to pick and even bet points on Fury to beat one of my favourite fighters in Klitschko, I don't support english fighters. Pshh bollocks
