Porter is goin to maul Broner. Broner will find himself not able to keep Porter off.

Then he gets Maidana'd all again.

Porter is all wrong for Broner.

Maidana throws punches from weird angles his opponents can't see though. Porter is ultra-linear, tries the same 2-3 attack sequences over and over. He will have to destroy Broner early or lose IMO. It won't be an drawn out beatdown like Maidana-Broner was.

No. The blueprint to beat Broner has been laid out.

Taylor almost did it ffs. Porter can pull a Maidana.

Broner needs to counter off the shoulder roll, he just didnt look right boxing/moving against John "The 1 Armed Bandit" Molina, sure he won but you can tell its not his style. Broner looked best when he countered Maidana in the middle rounds of their scrap, he messed up when he tried to stand up to Maidana and be the aggressor. I respect Broners use of the shoulder roll in a more aggressive stance but its best suited for countering especially because hes short with short arms.

As for Porter, he just needs to do what he does with his chin tucked low. Although itd be best to focus on a little more power than volume.

With that said & without any funny score card(s), I see Porter dropping Broner once and winning a close but clear decision. Not as clear as Maidanas victory but concise enough to have the non-delusional NSB posters in agreement.

Porter throws some awkward punches too with probably a little beat more speed than Maidana. Maidana just works behind a jab better to get inside but I think porters feet will get him inside just as well. Bad match up stylistically for Broner unless he changed things up but he'll suffer the same fate as with Chino.

As much as I dislike Broner, he's been hugely underrated lately. With Porter being weight drained, I have even more confidence that AB will pull it off. To most people it will look like a great match up by Al Haymon but he has picked this cautiously and perfectly and Broner's stock will rise once he wins. Porter is no Maidana, he's very aggressive like a bull but like Kell Brook showed, you just need to be the matador.

I think Maidana got overrated a little. I like him but he gave Floyd the problems he did only because his style not because he would be some kind of an elit fighter. I'm not convinced that he is better than Porter. Porter got underrated because Brrok defeated him in a close fight but before it he steamrolled Paulie like no one did and he straight up bullied and mauled Alexander.

if porter accepted the cw and the clause, he can't complain later. i think he should walk through broner.

I think Porter is overrated, and lacks the ability to adapt. His father's game plans is very vanilla. Both were exposed. He's one dimensional, and can only fight by mauling his oppoents. The weight loss won't help in this fight, but he could still be the stronger fighter.

Broner looks to have dedicated hisself back to his craft, and has an educated jab that will stop Porter's aggressiveness. Broner works to the body better than Porter. His defense is still a concern, stays in the pocket, and lacks any head or foot movement.

With that said, I think Broner beats him in a close fight. I think Porter's corner will not make the necessary adjustments and Porter will again revert back to trying to get inside while eating punches.
