  • Comments Thread For: Omar Figueroa's Father Wants More Dedication

The father and coach of former world champion Omar 'Panterita' Figueroa has asked his son for greater discipline to become the superstar that he dreams of being, so he can face the likes of Adrien Broner and Terence Crawford in the not too distant future.

Omar Figueroa Sr. confirmed that his son's training camp for the recent with Ricky Bruns was far from spectacular. Figueroa has been dealing with hand injuries for the last two years and his father says the right hand did get injured in camp, but his son refused to withdraw from the Premier Boxing Champions contest.

He literally can't fight from the outside at all. He just comes barreling in with head down and throwing punches over and over and over again. Burns was kinda lighting him up from the outside when he had his space.

        Go with Rpbert Garcia.

His work with Maidana was impressive. Maidana was very limited, and he was actually countering and boxing with Mayweather in spots, not to mention, made him do the "stanky leg" at the end of the 3rd round on the rematch.

Was never sold on Omar, his power saves him from most of his fights. The bad part is that he's been getting hand problems.

Get a trainer, and see how it works out. Not sure what robert could do for him to be honest, but it's a step in the right detection as far as improving his skill.

He said he left Diaz because he didn't wanna be away from his daughter during camps. So doubt it. Pretty dumb thing to do imo
