Comments Thread For: Dirrell Doesn't Consider DeGale As Tough As Froch

Andre Dirrell expects a difficult fight against James DeGale when they meet May 23 in Boston for the vacant IBF super middleweight title.

Dirrell doesn’t think DeGale will be his toughest foe from England, though. When asked to compare DeGale to Carl Froch (33-2, 24 KOs), the super middleweight champion who narrowly defeated Dirrell by split decision in their title fight 5½ years ago in Froch’s native Nottingham, Dirrell made that perfectly clear.

he's gona box degale, probably grab hold plenty and win by 2 or 3 points on the cards. I think degale if your clever you can hit him with somthing hard, a short right upercut, plus he loops that back hand so dirrell should be able to see that coming.

Maybe not, but he's probably more dangerous. . . switch hitter with speed and power.

I agree with Dirrell. He better not underestimate Degale though. A focused Dirrell who brings his A-game should win a comfortable victory.

Deal is a nobody and might actually get stopped.

DeGale will need a kockdown to at least take a draw here, I don't see him having the power to drop or stop Matrix.

Wow . Cant believe so many ppl on this site are going to write Degale off.
This is as close a 50/50 as you are ever going to see. And as the bookies have it pretty much even, that probably shows the real public opinion.

THIS is definitely not a 50/50/

Dirrell is much superior to Degale in every way feasible. Degale lost and got outboxed by Groves.

Dirrell is actually the underdog with a lot of bookmakers here.

Will put a bit on Dirrell.

He will fight the same as he did against Froch. Once the going gets tough he will spoil. And hasn't his competition been pretty poor? DeGale has been in with some pretty good fighters recently.

DeGale with a bad knee will find it hard to catch someone like Dirrell though who does at times literally runs.

I can't see DeGale getting stopped. I think he is packing a top-class chin.
