Comments Thread For: Gradovich Coach: Selby's Trash Talk Fuels Motivation

Strength and conditioning coach, Cicilio Flores, will be delighted at the performance of his charge Vasyl Lomachenko on the undercard of the Floyd Mayweather - Manny Pacquiao super fight last Saturday. His attentions however, will now turn to his other world champion, Evgeny Gradovich who defends his IBF featherweight belt against Welshman Lee Selby in London on May 30.

Flores has previously worked with the likes of Sergio Martínez and Sergey Kovalev and will be straight back to work this week with the 'Mexican Russian'.

"Gradovich is doing really well, this is his fifth week. This is kind of an off week for him," explained Flores to BoxingScene.com before the Lomachenko fight.

I think Gradovich will beat Selby.

    He's +240 too.

you might be right, but gradovich from what ive seen he squares up and falls in, his poise is off, and selby knows how to move around, so I would probably stay with selby although, he could get hurt.

Yeah he does make mistakes, I can just see him overwhelming Selby a bit with activity. Selby will have to show something new in this fight because imo the fighter ive seen coming up isnt quite good enough to fight at the top table. Having said that he does seem to fight within himself a bit so maybe he can bring it for this fight.

I think hearn is probably trying to make him more main stream, I doubt he'll be coming out to big L entrance music anymore, probably coldplay. I like mitchell to beat linares who cant handle pressure, he's had difficulty with anyone with power, he does the boxing routine but he doesnt have the legs to do that or keep it long, he's going to get demolished.

Reckon Linares vs. Mitchell is a bit of a pickem fight tbh. Neither seem particularly durable at world level. Ireckon Linares is a slightly better boxer but Mitchel has more power. Wouldnt be surprised to see either win.

linares has been protected, his last few fights he's had basically tune ups, he's not even a good boxer, mitchell can move better than him, he's going to get beat down imo ha. And Ive got hibbert beating ryan too.

I agree Linares isnt anything special, but then neither is Mitchell lol. We'll see. Maybe the mythical 'motivated Mitchell' will show up and become the fighter he was always meant to be, but I'll believe it when I see it!

Not sure on Hibbert vs Ryan havent seen much of either. Who you got in Blackwell vs Ryder? Might end up the best fight on the card imo

Mitchell has made improvements, he's thinking about whats coming back now, he's using his brain, having said that I wouldnt be confident in picking him against someone like shafikov. Id probably go with ryder on that one I dont think blackwells strong enough but I wouldnt be confident in predicting that one, blackwells saying he's going to pressure him which isnt a good tactic imo.

Gradovich is a brawler with no power. I expect Selby to beat him on a wide points decision.
