Comments Thread For: Monroe's Promoter: Here Because He's A Real Fighter

Artie Pelullo is well aware of the negative things being said about Willie Monroe Jr.

The prevailing opinion is that Monroe is just another overmatched opponent for middleweight monster Gennady Golovkin to knock out Saturday night in Inglewood, California. Pelullo, whose company promotes Monroe, disputed his fighter’s supposed role in their 160-pound title fight during a press conference Tuesday at a Los Angeles hotel near The Forum, where Golovkin and Monroe will square off in an HBO “World Championship Boxing” main event (10 p.m. ET).

“Most of you guys don’t realize what you’re about to see,” Pelullo said. “Most of the people in the room believe it’s a one-sided fight, which is incorrect. He’s here because he’s a real fighter.” [Click Here To Read More]

He could not have fought Lara because Lara cannot fight on HBO. Lara is now fighting his next fight on PBC. Lara is also in the wrong division and is more suited to track and field events than a boxing ring.

Lara would give us a good way of judging GGG's full versatility...

Maybe the G-Man, can get some track shoes, for the Fight!!!

              He's 25 to 1 on 5dimes without reduced juice.

I think if I throw a 10 in the garbage I'd have a better chance of winning.

Can you imagine betting 100 and walking out with 2600.

              Never happen.

I thought he was there for the biggest pay check of his career.

Which is being a real prize fighter, but not what people here would call a "real fighter" who finds for some altruistic to whoop ass.

Calm down. Monroe beat the D level Golovkin in Brandom Adams.
