People can say its cause mayweather has big ego but it goes far beyond mayweather. Its no different then rooting for your local football or baseball team. I dont know i just feel when you look around at every other country they have national pride in their fighters and even in america we have national pride for every other sport but boxing and i can see why fighters would take offense to it
    Nice post right here.

Reference Floyd personally though, guy was generally loved prior too De La Hoya fight....he chose to play the antagonist/villian role. He even says it in a interview during De La Hoya build up...two good guys dont sale, so I can be the bad guy....and boy did he ever. For casual fans this was their first glimpse of Floyd, he was disrespectful and started the money persona...then the Mexican outfit to throw more salt in the wound as he disrespected their "Golden Boy".

He saw that it worked and kept at it. Me personally witnessing him from the time he started his career saw the two different sides, so its easy for me to still respect the ring skills. But after playing the money persona so long, most dont know another side...he turns people away with his antics.

Dont get me wrong he has earned everything he got, but he also has to understand that he will never be a well liked athlete. He can act like it doesnt bother him, but it does, u can tell by some of his statements.

Yeah I rewatched fight with Pacfan(my friend) he would ignore 2:50 seconds of a round to find 10 seconds of what he called running lol. Floyd was on ropes he did nothing, Floyd in middle of ring, he did nothing....its comical. Doesnt make Manny a **** fighter...Floyd just dominated the foot placement game, resetting his offense with jabs or flashing it in his face...timing him with rights when Manny did get outside foot position, check hooks to spin out of corner. Its sad that people cant accept it and realize the hype was unwarranted.

                    • How about we comment on the fact that YOU didn't bother to thank god after the fight. All you did was cry and whine.
