    Lots of intrigue here.

Canelo needs Cotto so you can leverage that. Floyd needs him if he wants to do a another PPV.

If Floyd can't get Cotto to fight him, he can threaten to undermine the profits by fighting on Showtime live the same night as the Canelo/Cotto PPV.

You think fishnet cokehead and HBO are going to keep the fight on that date if that happens?

My best guess right now- Floyd/cotto 9/12 and Canelo/clottey week before or week after.

    we shall see!!!

Floyd is all about PPV numbers XYZ, can't see that happening. Haymon would talk better sense into Floyd if he even considered that.

But what if Floyd/Cotto gets made on PPV and HBO decide to undermine the profits of showtime and put Canelo/Clottey on regular HBO?

This is why I think May will just wait till next year to rematch Pac. He just made a ton of money, doubt Roc Nation and Al Haymon will work out a deal for Cotto and I don't see May being motivated by the prospect of fighting Khan or Garcia.

Too much speculation going on here. I think May-Pac rematch is possible. If Floyd wants Cotto match to happen then Haymon will make it happen for Floyd any issues with RocNation aside. Garcia's cherry pickin catch weight fightin azz aint facing Floyd for his first bout at 147.

Floyd just made enough money that he can fight on SHowtime for his regular guarantee and it not really hurt him

I think Floyd would gain some goodwill if he fought on Showtime in September, especially if its an opponent like a Cotto or Thurman.

Canelo is not having a PPV from what I read. So he will be fighting on HBO Sept 12th, and Mayweather will be fighting on Sho PPV Sept 12th. That's what it sounds like. Unless somehow Mayweather can find a Pacquiao-esque type opponent to shut the date down I don't think "lil red" is moving anywhere.

His leverage being the fact that his fight is not on PPV, and Mayweather doesn't have another Pac in his pocket.

Do you think a PPV with Khan or Thurman is going to force Canelo not to fight on the same date, different venue, and different channel? It doesn't sound like it, but we'll see.

I don't think so. The backlash still from the first fight will not draw much interest from paying fans. Just this morning fox 5 news was bashing the fight and its lack of action despite the tremendous hype when talking about its record breaking #'s.

Good point. But Canelo is trying to become a PPV star and had his HBO fight already. Yet another reason why Floyd should fight on SHowtime.

I think Jay showing up at the fight was a good sign. Besides, he is business man. The Canelo fight will always be there.

I think from a PR standpoint Floyd benefits far more from fighting on SHowtime, completing the deal, and putting himself in position to be a free agent for his next fight.

Well if he's not fighting Cotto and instead is fighting a regular guy on HBO TV, then that definitely isn't going to affect Mayweather's plans.

I can picture Floyd wanting to do that to undermine Canelo Cotto profits, but still guys like Espinoza/Haymon would talk Floyd out of it. Money made on May 2 2016>>>>fighting to spite Canelo etc on Showtime in Sept. Also Showtime will cough up the big bucks for Floyd coz he's on contract, who'll pay Cotto the millions on a non PPV fight? Also, Floyd is all about money, goodwill etc doesn;t mean shyt to him...especially not on his last fight..any like minded person would wanna cash out & cash out huge.
