When is the last time Mayweather or Pacquiao fought a Kirkland-level opponent?

Ndou fought way better than Kirkland and he was like 31-0 or 31-1 with like 30kos. Had like a 93% ko rate when he fought Floyd.Comment

On Kirkland, Sakio Bika is as agricultural as they come and he is a world champion who gave Andre Ward the hardest fight of his career (along with Boone). Provodnikov and Maidana have fought like relative cavemen for most of their careers, it doesn't mean they aren't amongst the best in the world at what they do. It's not always about perceived level of skill, intangibles matter a lot too.
Kirkland being out and having a novice trainer are fair grievances but Kirkland has earned his spot and reputation, he has good wins on his resume and came to fight putting it on Alvarez from the opening bell.Comment

In all honesty Guerrero is no better than Kirkland. In many respects Kirkland is a better fighter. Guerrero bit more technical but honestly he's a pretty average fighter.
Algieri isn't a huge amount better either, but his skills make me say he is.Comment

Let's just pretend canelo wasn't out of the ring for 10 months himself and let's pretend kirkland was out 2 years instead of less than a year and a half (17 months)Comment

Lol @ people saying Ortiz. Ortiz was coming off a big win over Berto and lot of fans was saying Floyd was scared of Ortiz. I'm pretty sure we can dig up some quotes on here where people were even picking him. Wasn't Ortiz a ranked WBC champion?Comment

Yeah, it's easy to say that now after Canelo beat the living sh¡t out of him. He sure didn't look shot and punch drunk in round one when he was teeing off on Canelo in the corner. C'mon Larry, don't succumb to this inaccurate, terrible thread.Comment

lol it was a Floyd fan who put them in the thread title, I don't really see the relation between the two fights to be honest. Alvarez can't be praised because Floyd and Manny always fight better comp? (allegedly) What kind of nonsense is that?
