Comments Thread For: Photos: Mike Tyson Donnie Yen at Ip Man 3 Presser

At a press conference in Shanghai, former undisputed heavyweight champion Mike Tyson was officially confirmed as joining the cast of Ip Man 3. The film is the final instalment of a biopic of martial arts ace and one time mentor of Bruce Lee, Ip Man.

After the previous episodes focused on Ip's early life, Ip Man 3 focuses on the master-student relationship between Ip (aka Yip) and Bruce Lee. Martial arts ace, Donnie Yen reprises his role as Ip in the film to be directed by Wilson Yip.

Thats bad azz, I love the Ip Man movies I saw them on NetFlix, they had both of them on there.

But man who gave Tyson a sword? I would be scared. seems like Tyson is going to play a Balrog type character, he might not be able to pull his punches and actually have a flash back and start swinging for real.

The original two Ip Man movies are some of the best martial arts films ever made. To have Tyson in number 3 is incredible.

They should consider getting an American-born or British-born director to oversee Tyson's acting in the movie because of the cultural differences. Historically, American / Brit actors in Chinese movies perform very poorly on screen (as we saw in Ip Man 2), unless there's some directorial supervision by someone from those countries.

One idea, how about hiring Spike Lee to oversee Tyson's acting?

Nice to see Yen back playing the role especially rare considering he said he'd never play the role of Yip again. Hope they don't fk this up like some of the spin offs that came after the first two films.

It's being directed and written by the same guys from the first 2 movies so I think chances are that it'll be just as good as the first two. That team is insanely talented judging by their track record.

Tyson voice will probably dubbed with some white British actors voice like most kung fu movies lol.
