Comments Thread For: Roman Gonzalez: Mayweather-Pacquiao Was Not Great

On Saturday night at the legendary Forum in Los Angeles, California - Nicaraguan boxer Roman "Chocolatito" Gonzalez (42-0, 36KOs) will make the second defense of his flyweight crown of the World Boxing Council (WBC) against Mexico's Edgar Sosa, a former world champion who is very experienced. "Chocolatito" makes his HBO televised debut as the co-feature to Gennady Golovkin's defense of the WBA/IBO middleweight titles against Willie Monroe Jr.

Gonzalez sat ringside on May 2nd at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas and watched Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao collide in what was the biggest fight in boxing. He liked the spectacle of the event itself but felt the action in the ring left very little to be desired.

It's Pac's fault though for not selling out, getting wreckless and risking getting KO'd and no fault should fall on Floyd because he was expected to fight a boring fight.

Did I get that right? LOL.

Has this dude been in a coma for the last 9 days? in fact....when was the last "great" Mayweather fight outside of his women's houses? I'll give you a hint.....Y2K was a huge concern and a black president was just wishful thinking.

Floyd should have come in fighting like Arturo Gatti so that Pacquiao can look better and the 100 million fans around the world get their monies worth. Cause we all know this is how Arturo Gatti, Israel Vazquez, and all other super exciting brawlers sold so many PPV's and why Mayweather constantly struggles at selling PPV's with his boring style and ****head personality.

Anyone who has seen Mayweather fight knows his style. He has displayed the same style since he fought his first fight at 147 in 2005. Anyone who paid for the PPV and is now whining because he didn't stand in the middle of the ring and slug it out with Pacquaio should be elected to the Idiot's Hall of Fame (this would apply to 90 percent of the people who post on this message board).

No Floyd fan said anything like what you wrote. Floyd fans know his style and appreciate his style. Floyd fans don't think the fight was boring. The only people who thought it was boring were: casaul fans who bought into the hype and ordered the fight expecting to see a rockem-sockem robots type brawl; haters like you who thought for sure the limited (skill-wise) Pacquaio was going to KO Floyd; and biased television personalities like Jim Lampley and Max Kellerman who thought Alvarez/Kirkland, a fight where no absolutely boxing skills were on display, was the greatest fight since Hagler-Hearns.
