Comments Thread For: Nick Blackwell is Hungry To Outclass John Ryder

CARDIFF - By Nick Blackwell: A lot of people have seen me as high risk, low reward for a long time now, so when I found out I'd been mandated for the British title and that I'd be fighting John Ryder, it came as a huge relief. It was a guarantee. I knew I'd get the fight. There'd be no avoiding me.

After beating Ryder, I won't just be seen as high risk, low reward. I'll have the British title to my name – and that's a massive reward.

For some reason, I knew I'd be fighting Ryder after Christmas. I just had a feeling he'd be The One. The Chris Eubank Jr fight came up again, as it always does, but I knew he would't take that. Unsurprisingly, it fell through pretty much straight away. I then had the opportunity to fight Ryder for the British title and that was music to my ears. [Click Here To Read More]

'never been in the ring with someone who was too strong for me' murray looked way too strong for you, and ryder looks way too strong too, so did the ukranian, thats why they pick you.

This will be a real good fight. Blackwell started young as a pro, has learned the game the hard way and is better than given credit for. Ryder will have his hands full, I fancy. Nick gave it a full blast try against Murray before gassing in what was only his 9th fight, a commendable effort given Murray was in Germany next time out drawing with Sturm in a title challenge. Still learning on the job, Blackwell didn't look out of place doing the full rounds at a brisk pace against Saunders and I wouldn't knock him for his six round draw with hard case Khomitsky who wrecked both Buliogni and Etches. It's a stacked card at the O2 but some of the high profile fights will surely disappoint for entertainment value. Ryder vs Blackwell won't.

I fancy mitchell, ryder and hibbert to win, probably selby wins too but he gets caught, gradovich if he was a bit sounder technique wise could hurt selby with the speed of his hooks, I feel thats a very close fight as we saw in selbys fight with simeone he can struggle later on, and brunker is not in gradovich's class.
