That would be Pacquiao/Mayweather all over again.

    70/30, would be about right.

And yep, if Ward jumped to 175 with no acclimation, I think that he would likely beat Kovalev..... if he took 2-3 fights to acclimatise, then I believe that he would be the heavy favorite in that fight, having already established himself at light heavy.

    Ward IS that good !

Ward is likely the most well-rounded fighter on the planet today.

This is why he would beat them.....

    * Ward is a much better fighter P4P than both GGG and Kovalev

    * Ward is probably the most well-rounded fighter in the game today

    * adjusting to 175 would be Wards only issue, but he fought at LHW in the ams, won a gold medal, and has beaten much bigger fighters due to his outstanding skillset, the same way Mayweather does

Size always counts in boxnig, thats why we have divisions..... but intelligent A-level fighters (especially pure boxers) do not have the same problems against larger opponents due to their style (e.g. Mayweather/Canelo).

Ward would " canelo " Kovalev.... he would render him ineffective.
Give martinez props for whooping on a lhw chavez jr for 11rds.

        Boxing has height divisons ?

Isnt the weight more relevant ?

It is absurd to discuss welters fighting at middleweight.

Mayweather/GGG is mentioned, because Mayweather is a great P4P fighter.

        Pacquiao/GGG is never mentioned.

He doesn't have the power to curb GGG's relentless come at you aggression. Same thing with Kovalev (although Kovalev isn't as technically sound as GGG, but would have an even bigger power advatage as well as an iron chin... so more running/surviving from ward)

In the Pac/Floyd fight... Floyd had enough power to keep Manny "honest," to keep Manny from going full-berserk... Ward won't have that advantage with GGG or Kovalev and this would be a big disadvantage...

Now, don't get me wrong, I actually enjoy watching a better athlete/technician dominate the "tough" guy... Floyd put on a clinic vs Manny...but don't expect that same sort of display here.

And as far as Ward's P4P status... Both Floyd and especially Rigo are better athletes and skilled fighters... Rigo has relatively much more fluid footwork... and both Rigo and Floyd are faster... Not saying is Ward isn't up there, but he most definitely is not superior as those two.
I dont believe that at all !

No offense meant, but that is a typical casual fan assumption.

Casual fans get drunk on power.

Ward has fought much bigger guys than GGG who hit just as hard.

Power was never a factor, and it never will be.

Nobody will walk through Wards punches, not GGG, and not Kovalev.

Dude, GGG will need skills to beat Ward, and he will have to prove that he is a better fighter.

You all said the exact same thing about Mayweather/Pacquiao.

Fcuk, you all said the same thing about Matthyse/Garcia lol.

" power.... running..... Pac will walk through Mayweathers punches "
          (even though Canelo couldnt LOL).

Power, is the most over-rated aspect of boxing.

Power has never been a prerequisite to winning a boxing match.

Mayweather is not a big puncher, but he punches real nice, extremely fast and accurate..... and that is all you ever need in boxing.

Ward has more than enough power/accuracy to keep GGG off him, I think a lot of people would be really surprised watching that fight. Andre Ward is a master at neutralising power, GGG will need to have a lot more strings to his bow to deal with a well-rounded fighter like Ward.

I think he would fall way short, I dont take that fight very seriously, and I doubt it will ever happen. Sanchez is too smart, and GGG is too well-managed.

Kovalev will get it though, no question.

            I did bro !

Martinez is the very definition of a P4P fighter.

He could have finished his career at 154.

But what he did to Pavlik was more impressive to me.

Not that high on Jnr, although he was a beast at 160.

I actually referred to Martinez here.....

              Agreed !

I dont think Ward/GGG will ever happen either.

Sanchez is way smarter than GGG's bandwagon.

Ggg would drop down to 154 for that fight. Pac hasnt been sitting on a Sww belt for 3 years straight, right? Hes not lineal, unified Sww champ, right? Its only Floyds 5th division, its Pacs 8th, 11 above his starting. But i understand grade school math might be beyond you

Team Ward are not too eager either. Roc Nation CEO wants it on Ppv, Virgil Hunter feels it needs more buildup...

Its not just the power, dumbfcuk. Ggg outpointed the very fast, very talented Andre Dirrell over 3 rounds with headgear and big gloves. Thats a format most suitable for a guy like Dirrell
