Extremely bad. He's been dropped by feather-fisted fighters and even women in sparring.

It's as bad as it gets at the world class level.

It's not good at all but he's still a tough guy to face. The guy is relentless. He didn't react well to Canelo's punches though. The bodyshots affected him a lot. Those uppercuts were landing on the button. There was no other outcome possible but Kirkland ending the night on the canvas.

He was taking some bombs, straight power max type shots, and he kept walking through them. The problem is that Nelo has more pop than people choose to give him credit for. When he was able to trap Lara, he literally doubled him over from the body shots. You could tell he was afraid for his life in there.

That last shot that dropped him was a perfect right hook that landed on the base of the chin. Getting hit there will almost always shut off the lights it seems, something to do with equilibrium.

His chin isn't complete rubbish but his lack of defense is the main issue. He was able to take Tapia's punches and beat him down but Canelo is just a much stronger, sharper puncher than Tapia was.

He has a grinding bulldog style and doesn't have the chin to pull it off. Not only that, but just horrendous technique and defense in general. You can do that, still tuck your chin, and still be defensively responsible.
