Why fight Golovkin now when you can build that fight up and make it into a mega fight next year? Golovkin should fight the likes of Lee, Quillin, Jacobs and the winner of N'dam-Lemiux. I don't think Canelo will duck Golovkin because he has shown he will fight anybody, even if his team is against it. Canelo should fight Cotto, it seems like the logical step to take after a win like this, unless of course Cotto has other plans. I believe the Wbc has ordered the winner of Cotto-Geale to fight Golovkin after their fight. I do not see Cotto fighting Golovkin if he gets past Geale, but that's just my opinion.

By the time Canelo fights GGG, Golovkin will be king of the SMW division and Canelo should be ruling at MW.

The worst thing that could happen for Canelo is that GGG steps aside and allows the Cotto - Canelo fight to be for the belt. Then after Canelo wins, he has to fight GGG next and that will cause serious damage to his future as a MW. He may actually have to drop back down to 154 for a few years to get his head back in shape. GGG would ruin him at this point in time and an early round KO would wreak havoc with Canelo's self confidence. He might never get it back and be totally gun-shy to ever move back to MW.
