This fight would've been way different if it happened in 2012 when Kirkland was told to step in for Williams. That's what happens when you get "injured" and ask for too much money. K

That was a long time ago in 2012 when people thought Canelo was avoiding certain guys. He tried to fight Paul Williams before his tragic accident and then Victor Ortiz before he got his jaw busted. People were talking about Kirkland before the Lopez fight happened. Kirkland was going through some stuff so that fight never happened.
Now after Canelo took on Trout, Lara, Mayweather, he has proven he won't duck a challenge and I didn't see too many people saying Kirkland was going to win other than alot of wishful thinking.
People that aren't fans want to see Canelo lose so they hype these guys up. If the Cotto fight happens people will ignore that he was his title against a 40 year old guy with two shot knees coming off a year layoff and hype him up as well.

I think Canelo is very under rated by many. There is a reason Mexicans love him beside the fact he is a Mexican. Mexican fans know he is fearless and comes to fight and he is a very good fighter with speed, accuracy and power in both hands.

Back in 2011-12 there was a lot of talk, especially since Anne wanted that fight more than to fight Sergio. Good thing it waited since who knows how a 21yr old canelo would have reacted. James hit canelo with all he had and canelo took it and put a beating on James. Great win for canelo, only monster left is at 160. Being heavily avoided

Yea...its possible. But that was some years ago. Leading up until this fight, there were very few who thought so. I knew it'd be a slaughter.

                      They did?

I mean, it was possible when Alvarez hadn't stepped up yet, but did anyone really think he could beat Alvarez once the ginger had stepped up? I highly doubt that was the opinion around here.
