Canelo wasn't green. He was young in age but he had almost as many pro fights as Floyd, not at the same level but he was a world champion. Once you hold a belt, you have no right for excuses about being green. He wasn't too green to beat Trout, a guy who schooled Cotto.

If it's just about age then lets erase Tyson's lost to Douglas because he was only what, 24? Of course, nobody days that. It only works when people want to discredit a Mayweather win.

Anyway, If you hold a title but too green to fight the top fights then give up your title until you're ready. At the end of the day, Canelo knows what he can do and his team and they thought he was good enough and not too green. Turns out he's just not on that level, 22 or 32.

I always said he should have waited 2-3 more years and let mayweather get old. Seeing how mayweather is now, he should have waited an extra 2-3 years on top of that. Ideally, he should have fought mayweather when he was 27-28 imo.
