I agree, and if nothing else, Kirkland should not be fighting at this level given his long absence in the ring. How was this fight even sanctioned? Following his long layoff from the ring, Andre Ward chose a specific opponent (Paul Smith) that was the appropriate opponent following a long layoff. Kirkland was absent from the ring almost as long as Ward, but instead he fights Alvarez in his return bout. It makes no sense what-so-ever.Comment
