          New England mentioned it in his post. ****ie Cole was the long time head of the state's Combative Sports Program which functions as the boxing (and mma) commission there.

          He was basically in charge of the screwed up drug testing program they have and obviously has some influence as to who gets picked to ref and judge fights.

                  It's very corrupt here in Texas. It's embarrassing at times. My boxing instructor got a job at the TXDLR for awhile. He went in there with a great attitude and was determined to try and do things right. He didn't last two years. He said it was a complete cesspool.
