I think we can all agree, Amir Khan is a bigger threat to TBE then GGG.

I think combat sports are perfect for wishful thinking. Where else can you be a nobody brought in as a sacrificial lamb, but end up KOing the heavy favorite in a World Championship? You could be losing every second of the fight and land a strike in the last 10 seconds and win. How often would that happen in say the NBA? After a certain point you give up hope.

However, I don't agree Khan is bigger threat than GGG, but he is certainly a threat.Last edited by Box-Office; 05-09-2015, 10:12 PM.

It is completely mind-boggling how wishful thinking colors peoples view among boxing's fan base. It is also bizarre how so-called boxing fans still haven't become students of the game and can sense the BS match-ups in advance.
I'm guessing the detractors can start accumulating their excuses why Khan shouldn't have been in the ring with Floyd in the first place .... now!!!!
Boxing experts have been saying Khan is a threat to Mayweather for a long time, including the likes of Ricky Hatton, Paulie Malignaggi, Oscar De La Hoya, Al Bernstein, and even Floyd Mayweather Sr. They've all mentioned how Khan's faster hand speed, quicker jabs, taller height, punch accuracy and range control make him a big threat to Floyd.
Also, that triangle theory argument is a fallacy, the kind I'd expect from casual fans. Khan may have struggled before against heavy punchers, but he's never been troubled by technical boxers. Fact is that Khan has never been outboxed. Mayweather is a technical boxer, not a heavy puncher, so Khan vs Mayweather would be a pure boxing match between two technical boxers who have never been outboxed before. Styles make fights.Last edited by aAgger; 05-09-2015, 10:36 PM.

Khan offers more, he is faster, has just as long reach as floyd if not slightly longer, moves a lot, throws combos from long range and get out, and is active, and he has a great trainer in Virgil Hunter who will get him ready.
GGG is slow and just has power, Khan offers more difficulty.
GGG is just slow and will get pot shotted as Floyd rolls under and out.
