Manny won the fight. watching it again Floyds strategy is hold and run. Hopefully someone will be an in-depth slow motion analysis of this fight. Manny had far more influence on his punches than Floyd.

Bayless never warned Floyd for any of his repetitive headlocks. pushing Mannys head down. nothing.

    Floyds a scam.

That was Mayweather's gameplan, keep Pacquiao at bay with the jab, catch him with a hook or straight right then tie him up or roll out - rinse and repeat to a decision.

Mayweather didn't like the right hook in the 3rd and he switched to Plan B.

Unfortunately, Pacquaio was too patient waiting for an opening, and didn't show any sense of urgency.

Give credit to Mayweather he won.

can you point to floyds sense of urgency and his inpatience in waiting for an opening?

Even when looking for them, I couldn't see any signs of a shoulder injury in the replay and there was no apparent mention of one in the corner between rounds.

For somebody who supposedly needed an anti-inflammatory before the fight, the fact that Pacquiao's corner didn't even use an ice pack on the shoulder is interesting.

Clear Floyd win. Pac fell away in the second half of the fight.

Both looked below-par but still showed lots of flashes of elite-level skill (yes, Pac too - maintaining a mostly great defence while being the pressure fighter against the most accurate puncher in boxing is a signifier of his skills)

The more interesting discussion to be had is about Floyd's style, which let's face it, from a neutral's (not casual, but NEUTRAL perspective), is a migraine-inducing eyesore. The dude has refined his style to the point where it feels exploitative of the scoring system. He's playing the numbers. It is completely risk-averse and designed to kill a fight.

Is this really boxing? Shutting things down, dipping below the waist to then come up clinching, pot-shotting, throwing check-hooks to keep the opponent of balance rather than hurt him.....

At some point, we need to ask what is going on here. Thankfully, he seems serious about retirement after his next fight, and maybe we can get back to the true art of boxing - not some dude with all the cards in his favour playing it safe and basically leaving the initiative on the other guy to make his ass less boring
