In the HBO televised main event, Saul "Canelo" Alvarez weighed in at 154.5-pounds - and James Kirkland also weighed in at 154.5-pounds. The weight limit was 155-pounds.

The televised co-feature was canceled following the weighin, Frankie Gomez was well over the limit as he came in at 147.5-pounds. The initial contract limit was 141-pounds (limit was later changed to 145 after Gomez was way over that weight limit on Friday morning, but still blew the new weight). Humberto Soto was 142.5.
